New Site Address!
In my attempt to make some needed changes on this site because of our move, and connect it to my other site... www.dailysurrendertojesus.com, I found it easier to just redo the site. So... that being said, I hope you will continue to follow our journey at it's new location... www.mydailysurrender.blogspot.com. It's still the same Pelzl Family Blog, just a new address. That means that anyone who was following this old address will no longer get updates unless you choose to follow the new address. I hope you will. I enjoy following your sites as well. God bless!
Along Our Journey to Texas
I have finally had time to get my pictures together and I want to share just a few of them that were taken along the way as we traveled to Texas. Our first stop was to visit family in Genoa, Nv. and Lee Vining, Ca. and the next few pictures were taken there, on a fun fishing day with Nana and Papa. The boys went home with 19 fish for a delicious dinner!!
Nana and Nate
After a few more stops in California, we finally began the journey.....
(Proof that California is NOT ALL beautiful.)
Arizona
While we were in Arizona we stopped in Tuscon to visit the Peyton family. We met the Peytons in Ethiopia when we were all there to finalize adoptions and bring our kids home. Teddy and Endy were so happy to see their friends Isaiah and his little sister Makada. And we were thoroughly blessed by Melanie who prepared a delicious, traditional Ethiopian meal for all of us to share together!

On Our Way
Wow! We are officially on our way. We've been without internet for the last week so this is the first opportunity I've had to fill you all in. We left our home in Pollock Pines on Thursday and spent some time with family along the way. Had a great time fishing in Lee Vining with Nana and Papa and playing with cousins. Then got to see Kaleb in Fallbrook. (Thanks Jen for making dinner for our whole family!! You are a blessing.) Yesterday we made it all the way to Tucson where we've had a wonderful time visiting friends we met in Ethiopia. Teddy and Endy have been playing with their friends from the orphanage and having a great time. Tonight it's on to El Paso... or as close as we can get depending on the four kids and two dogs and how much traveling they are up for. When I make it to our new home in Texas I will post some pictures of our trip. Much love to all of you.

Nick's First Football Game
There's my boy... number 71.
Walking back to his teammates. Waiting to play as defensive tackle.
Really wishing I had my good camera for the action photos, but my zoom went out and I had to send it in to get fixed. These pictures were taken with an older camera and most of the photos turned out blurry. :( Hopefully I'll have my camera back before the next game so you can actually see him playing!! But I am grateful that I was able to at least get a few shots of his first game. And I'm hoping that my mom got some too.
Nana, any photos to pass my way?? :)

Moving to Texas
"A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9.
Our plan to move a little closer to Adam's work ended up being all the way in Texas!! What changes are taking place in our lives right now. Yes, he will have a shorter commute!! :D And we are definately out of the snow! :D LOL!! I can't wait to see the amazing things the Lord has in store. I will tell you all more as the whirlwind settles a bit.

Moving Forward
I'm not sure why, but for some reason (haha) I haven't been able to find the time to post much lately. hmmm. :D At least I've gotten a few photos up for all of you. Life has been very full these days. In addition to our expanding number of children, and the activity that brings... we have also recently decided to try to sell our house. In this falling economy, we'll soon see how realistic that is. But we are hopeful. We plan (God willing) to move closer to Adam's work so that he can eliminate this ridiculously long commute. Especially in the winter months when the final leg of his commute requires that he maneuver through snowy roads and even shovel the drive to get in when he arrives home at 4am. (He works in Sacramento and we live just above the snowline, about an hour or so away.) So... the new task of my days is to get this house organized, cleaned and ready to show to prospective buyers. Then try to keep it that way while continueing to live with 5 very active boys in the house. (6 if you count Adam) HAHAHA. (Pray for me!!)
Teddy and Endy are still adjusting to being Pelzl's so well!! Their English is expanding every day and they have a great understanding of humor! They love to laugh. They also love the bath, and they love books and they love their brothers. Dad took the older three on a weekend campout with our church and Endy and Teddy didn't stop asking for Nick, Nate, Kaleb and Daddy all weekend. I guess that's a good thing. hmmm. ;)
Kaleb is still with us for the summer and we're not looking forward to flying him back to his mom's in a few weeks. That's always hard! But I know it's just as hard on his mom to have him away most of the summer! (He did get to go back and spend a week with her in the middle of summer. And catch up with his friends of course. That's a necessity as a high schooler.) I suppose this is exactly why God never intended for us to have broken and blended families. The child is the one who spends his time shuffling back and forth, flying alone on an airplane at way too young of an age. (Not that he's too young now, but it was hard at first for my husband and Kaleb's mom to make the decision to entrust him to the flight attendant and wait for the phone call on the other end to let us know the flight attendant safely handed him off. Eeeek!) Thankfully, Kaleb has been blessed with parents who truly love him and work graciously together to make decisions for his benefit. Life is imperfect, so live and learn, and walk in HIS grace.
Our summer freedom is drawing short. Next week starts football season for Nick. He is so excited!! He's been asking and asking, but because of the commitment involved, we've put it off as long as we could. This year we finally agreed to let him give it a try. I so hope he loves it as much as he thinks he will!!! And just a few weeks away is the beginning of another school year. Is it really that close?!?! Yikes! This year all of us will be in school. Mommy as the teacher, Teddy and Endy doing some pre-school and kindergarten activities, Nick in the 5th grade, Nate starting Jr. High, Kaleb going into his sophomore year, and even Daddy is back in school working on his masters. Pray for him... it's been said some of the most stressful times are having more kids, moving, and starting school. hmmm.
For my family and friends who take the time to read my little updates... I want to say thank you. And for those who keep me updated with blogs of their own I want to say an extra thank you!! I truly enjoy reading about the events of your lives. Perhaps the rest of you will consider starting a blog of your lives and families so that the rest of us can be a part of your day by day activities. I would so enjoy that!! Think about it!! ;) Many blessings and love to all of you!!
